ASICS hereby publishes its “Environmental Philosophy” as part of the “Guidelines for the Control and Usage of Hazardous Chemical Substances".
Our Environmental Philosophy is an essential part of the way we do business. This philosophy enhances our environmentally-friendly working practice and product safety regulations.
These guidelines have been established based on the "ASICS Environment Policy". They are to be observed not only by ASICS employees but also by our subcontractors in the control and usage of hazardous chemical substances. These substances may be contained in materials and/or parts of products designed, manufactured and/or sold by ASICS.
Environmental Philosophy
ASICS recognizes an important social responsibility for ensuring the conservation of the environment and is addressing the challenge of building a global society capable of sustainable development.
Our principal goals are:
(1) To equip ASICS with an environmental management system, to clarify the authority and responsibilities of this system, and to promote conservation of the environment.
(2) To work towards reducing the environmental impact of company activities by conserving resources and energy, reducing emissions, implementing environmentally-aware purchasing, and preventing pollution.
(3) To consistently work towards further improvements in environmental conservation while respecting environmental laws, regulations and agreements in all Company activities.
(4) From the planning stage onwards, to invest in the development and manufacture of products with a view to reducing the negative environmental impact.
(5) To cooperate with social movements and initiatives related to environmental conservation and to contribute to the community.
(6) To promote improvements in environmental management by implementing an Environmental Management System Audit.
(7) To work towards increasing awareness of environmental conservation among all company employees through in-company communication and environmental training.
